Training with Nick
Nicholas George started his Aikido learning in early 1985 as a founding member of the Maryland Dojo of Fugakukai International. He progressed through the rank of Nidan (2nd degree black belt) before he moved to New York in 1988.
Without any Aikido in the area Nick started his class at the Corning YMCA in January 1989. By keeping in close contact with the Maryland Dojo and Fugakukai headquarters in Houston, Texas, Nick was able to grow considerably in his Aikido and has successfully taught hundreds of students.
In 2000 Nick started Kinetic Symmetry and incorporated his Aikido class into the business. He moved his dojo out of the YMCA and into a new location in Big Flats, New York. That same year Nick was promoted to Rokudan (6th degree black belt) and made a member of the leadership council of Fugakukai International.
The Big Flats dojo administration was turned over to Sandan Jenny Wurster and Sandan Tim Randall in January 2004 when Nick moved his family to Glens Falls region of New York. In 2006 the class moved to Painted Post and is still a strong part of Kinetic Symmetry Aikido.
In July 2007, after two and half years of searching, Nick started teaching in the Glens Falls region.
Nick George Sensei's teaching style emphasizes safety, fun, and a strong foundation in basic movements.
